TRANCE BLUES. DARK COUNTRY.
With his second solo release “Night Rider”, Frank Magnolia’s takes his rhythmically-driven trance blues further. This time we got drums, congas, shakers, and maracas, and yes, we got cowbell, we got bass, upright bass, we got badass sub-bass, we got fat electric guitars, jazz guitars, slide guitars and of course, Magnolia’s trademark punch-and-pull 6-string dreadnaught, and we got witches and church bells, tricksters and bad girls, liquor and jive, betrayal and romance, desire and deception, and we got Telecasters and SG’s, and overdriven tube amps, lounge voodoo, cat funk and roots rock, and even a little thunderstorm.
Almost There is a collection of 12 original tracks packed in 50 mins of trance blues, lounge voodoo, drone jazz and shuffle noir with some oddball 6-string theatronics along the way. Magnolia’s debut release is a tale of sex, drugs and the human condition, a story of love, heartbreak and yearning, nightmares and dreams, borderline disorders and brazen depravity. Raw, unfiltered and straight from the gut.
